DP&L will mail an Energy Savings Kit - at no cost - directly to customers' homes.

DP&L's limited offer runs through March, or while supplies last. The free energy savings kit, with an estimated value of $30, includes:

CFL light bulb - Uses ¼ the energy of incandescent bulbs; lasts up to 10 times as long; saves up to $30 over lifetime of bulb

  • LED light bulb - Uses 1/10 the energy of incandescent bulbs; lasts up to 25 years; saves up to $130 over lifetime of bulb
  • Efficient showerhead - Saves up to $30 per year with massaging water stream
  • Kitchen faucet aerator - Saves up to $30 a year; reduces waste by directing flow where needed with 360 swivel
  • Bathroom faucet aerator - Reduces water consumption; saves about $7 per year, depending on water usage

Installing all the energy efficient equipment in the kit could save a household up to $90 per year on energy costs. Savings are highest in homes with electric hot water heaters.

The Energy Savings Kit is part of DP&L's ongoing Energy Efficiency programs for customers that provide discounts for energy efficient light bulbs at participating local retailers and rebates for installing higher efficiency heating and air conditioning systems.
