March 3, 2017

DAYTON, Ohio - March 3, 2017 - The Dayton Power and Light Company (DP&L), a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE:AES), and Vectren Energy Delivery of Ohio (Vectren) will host an energy fair for young people from around the Miami Valley to learn cool ways to save energy on Friday, March 3, 2017, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the University of Dayton (UD).

The Energy Fair gives 100 high school leaders an opportunity to instruct students on becoming more energy efficient through scientific experiments and demonstrations.

More than 375 students will attend the Energy Fair, facilitated by the Ohio Energy Project (OEP), at UD's River Campus building on South Patterson Boulevard.

High school students from Greeneview, Lehman Catholic, McClain, Oakwood, STEAM Academy of Dayton, Twin Valley South and Valley View will be teaching students in grades 4-6 from the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, Dayton Public, Kettering  Russia and Troy districts.

Students will use Snap Circuits as well as a new Energy Baton to simulate series and parallel electric circuits. The popular Energy Bike will be back, along with experiments on sound waves, color and thermal energy.

The Energy Fair is part of DP&L's and Vectren's School Education Program facilitated by OEP throughout the school year. The school program is part of DP&L's ongoing energy efficiency efforts for customers, which also include rebates on new heat pumps and air conditioners, discounts on energy-efficient lighting, free refrigerator recycling and rebates for business customers.
