Dayton Power and Light Awards $2.5 Million Community Grants in 2018

DAYTON, Ohio - January  29, 2019 - The Dayton Power and Light Company  (DP&L), a subsidiary of The AES Corporation (NYSE: AES), awarded 107 Corporate and DP&L Foundation grants to support economic development and arts, workforce development, poverty reduction, and diversity and inclusion organizations in 2018 totaling $2.5 million.

The 2018 grants included fourteen DP&L Foundation Power Grants which will make a long-lasting impact on the people and communities in the Dayton Region. The foundation introduced Signature Grants in 2013 to provide organizations with the opportunity to request funding for larger projects. Now called Power Grants, these strategic investments are aimed at helping to improve the quality of life, enhancing the sustainability of organizations, and engaging volunteerism in area partner organizations.

Since its founding in 1985, The Dayton Power and Light Company Foundation has awarded over $38 million which includes nearly $5 million in Power Grants to highly  regarded non-profit organizations that support our mission to improve lives.
