AES Ohio is proposing the Franklin-Honda 138 kilovolt (kV) Improvements Project located in Franklin Township, within Shelby County, Ohio.
This supplemental project makes improvements to the previously approved Franklin Substation and 138 kV Extension Project (PUCO Case No. 22-0833-EL-BLN), adding two new structures within the existing centerlines of each of the two 138 kV transmission lines that connect Franklin Substation to the Honda Development and Manufacturing of America (HDMA) facility. The Project also includes one new structure within the existing centerline on the 138 kV Shelby-Franklin transmission line near the Franklin Substation. A total of five new and repurposed structures are included in this proposed Project.
The Franklin Substation and 138 kV Extension Project was approved December 30, 2022, and the additional structures included in this supplemental Project are needed for safety and constructability reasons.
